Job Description
To provide quality pharmaceutical services to inpatients, outpatients, employees and the general public. To provide education, information, and advice to physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals on the use, selection, dosage, and administration of medications. To effectively supervise support personnel. To oversee and precept pharmacy students and residents ensuring they have a valuable educational experience while guiding them towards competence in providing compassionate, safe and effective pharmaceutical care to patients.
Key Responsibilities
Under direction and subject to state and federal laws and regulations and professional practice standards governing the practice of pharmacy in the State of California, to select, prepare, distribute, dispense, and monitor drugs, chemicals, solutions, and materials for medical and scientific use; to functionally direct supportive personnel involved in the above activities; to provide clinical expertise and judgments necessary for proper utilization, administration, and monitoring of medications in cooperation with the medical and nursing staff; and to provide patient counseling and medication education services to multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers including pharmacy students and residents.
Qualifications
Pharm.D degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
ASHP Accredited Postgraduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1)
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Current California pharmacist license
Salary Range:
$99.22 - $116.81 USD Hourly
