Job Description
An Imaging Technologist Assistant, TA, is responsible for assisting the radiological technologist/ sonographer during the imaging process. They accomplish tasks through working effectively with others and appreciating the value and commitment of every team member. The Technologist Assistant will embody WeCare service standards as they care for patients by transporting them to procedures, answering patient questions, and preparing them for their imaging procedure. The TA is responsible for ensuring that patients are comfortable and at ease during the imaging process. The TA will also demonstrate WeCare service standards in their communication with other members of the health care team.
In addition to working with patients, the Imaging Technologist Assistant may perform administrative tasks such as answering phones and data entry. The TA is expected to be a team player who possesses a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and acts to constantly improve the level of clinical and non-clinical outcomes and level of customer satisfaction in both individual and teamwork processes.
Key Responsibilities
Greets patient when they arrive for their exams
Escorts patient throughout facility to ensure timeliness of exams
Confirms demographic and insurance information
Accurately documents medical history for the technologist and physician
Performs screening procedures on all patients before entering the scan room
Assists Technologists to position, transfer and properly immobilize patients as required
Reviews patient schedules and confirms protocoling has occurred
Maintains professional skills and provides age-specific care to patients of all ages (neonates, infants,
children, adolescents, adults and geriatrics)
Follows safety procedures and guidelines and reports unsafe practices and conditions
Consistently and appropriately follows Universal Precautions
Inventory, maintain and order adequate supplies
Assists in performing first aid, CPR and AED
Participates in peer competencies
Performs other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
High School graduate or equivalent.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy.
MR technologist aids must pass safety screening in order to work in the MR environment.
Preferred: One year experience in hospital or clinic setting with direct patient care or previous experience as an Imaging technologist aide.
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
Basic Lifesaving Certification – American Heart Association

$34.97 - $44.23 USD Hourly
