Job Description
Collaborates with other members of the healthcare team to promote optimum patient rehabilitation. Provides Speech- Language Pathology services as defined by the California Speech-Language Pathology Practice Act, applying the principles, methods, and procedures for the screening, evaluation, and treatment of disorders of speech, voice, cognition, language, and swallow.
- Additionally, the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) will provide Speech Language Pathology services within an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position’s qualifications, professional practices, and ethical standards.
- This individual will demonstrate accountability for, and contribution to, the Department’s daily operations, including fulfilling charge duties as requested.
- The SLP will demonstrate proficiency in the performance and interpretation of videofluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS), also known as modified barium swallow studies (MBSS).
- Inpatient SLP providers must also demonstrate proficiency in Fiberoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallow (FEES), as determined by formal sign-off by a qualified individual who can attest to the provider’s competency.
- Exhibit fiscal responsibility through accurate time-keeping of assigned work shifts (which includes compliance with management-designated start/end times).
- Participate in program development and quality improvement activities as requested by management
- Adhere to the Department’s established productivity standards.

- Position is enterprise-wide, employees will be required to float between campuses.
Qualifications
- Completion of Accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program; Masters Degree required
- For Outpatient SLPs: Demonstrated proficiency in video swallow studies (VFSS/MBSS) within six (6)months of hire
- For Inpatient SLPs: Demonstrated proficiency in both VFSS/MBSS six (6) months and FEES within one (1) year of hire
License/Certification/Registration Requirements
- Current valid California Speech-Language Pathology license
- Certificate of Clinical Competence OR a clinical fellowship under supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist on staff who has a Certificate of Clinical Competence as required by the State of California
- Current BLS (Basic Lifesaving Certification - American Heart Association) for Healthcare Provider
- Valid California drivers license and proof of automobile insurance
- CCS-Paneled or in process if working in NICU/OP Pediatrics

Salary Range:
$57.75 - $86.62 USD Hourly
